1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest (optional)
1 3/4 cups Extra White Gold Gluten Free all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 medium apples, peeled and chopped (about 2 cups)
1 tablespoon unsalted
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
- Preheat oven to 350 ° In a pan, cook apples, butter and light brown sugar for 3-4 minutes until butter is melted and apples are softened. Remove from heat. Let it cool completely.
- Cream butter and sugar .Add the eggs one by one and the lemon zest (optional). Mix well.
In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture alternately with milk, mix after each addition.
- Spread batter into a greased 13 X 9-in.
Arrange cooled and drained apples on top of batter. Mix topping ingredients until smooth, spread over apples.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean for 30-35 minutes.
