This recipe tastes great and is perfect poured on everything.
We recommend using it for turkey gravy, chicken or beef and it can be made with or without drippings (vegetarian).
A cooking tip: If you do make the gravy ahead of time, it can be reheated in a saucepan over very low heat. Pour over the warm dish item and serve.
Ingredients: (For 1 cup gravy)
2 tablespoons butter or vegan butter
2 tablespoons Extra White Gold All Purpose flour
1/3 cup whole milk (or unsweetened Almond or Soy milk)
1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream (optional)
3/4 cup beef, chicken or vegetable stock
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Fresh chopped Rosemary or Dill (optional)
For 2 cups gravy You will need:
4 tablespoons butter or vegan butter
4 tablespoons Extra White Gold All Purpose flour
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional)
1 1/2 cups beef, chicken or vegetable stock
Salt and pepper
How to make?
In a small pot, add butter and melt over low heat. Add Extra White Gold All Purpose flour, and mix to combine (use a whisk). Cook slowly over medium-low heat, whisking frequently, until the mixture is light golden. (about 2-3 minutes). Add the stock, and whisk to combine. The mixture will clump slightly, but keep whisking. Add the milk and cream, and increase the heat to medium. By this time, you will not have lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook, whisking very frequently, until thickened (about 4-5 minutes). Stir in the salt, pepper. Add Rosemary and serve.
