Bourekas are made in a wide variety of shapes and a vast selection of fillings, and are typically made with a flaky dough. This is our easy dough version filled with cheese and spices.
This dough is great for quick pizza and flat bread.
Ingredients:
Dough:
1 cup Extra White Gold Bread flour
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 tsp salt
Ricotta cheese filling:
1 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp Garlic powder and oregano
1/2 cup grated cheese
Egg wash
sesame cheese (optional)
Directions:
- Mix ingredients of the dough in a large mixing bowl. Cool dough in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Mix ingredients of the cheese filling together. Keep in the refrigerator until using.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Dust well the surface with gluten free flour. Roll out the dough into 2 rectangles.
- Fill with ricotta filling.
- Roll into a log and shape into a round roll. Brush with an egg wash
- Sprinkle sesame seeds or grated cheese. Bake for 25 minutes.
